Inclusive Excellence and Deep Belonging

Where identity, access, and excellence are inseparable.

Our Goal:

Mirman will foster a deeply connected community where every student and family feels genuinely seen and valued. Each member of the Mirman community will seek to understand identity perspectives that are different from their own, and understand giftedness not as a single trait, but as a rich, multidimensional spectrum of strengths, passions, and ways of thinking.

Strategic Initiatives:

  1. Clearly articulate and live the connection between diversity and academic excellence
  2. Expand equitable access, including socioeconomic diversity, to maintain a diverse community
  3. Build a shared understanding of giftedness that strengthens belonging by creating explicit space for a variety of equally valued gifts and talents
  4. Deepen identity development and affinity spaces
  5. Ensure belonging is intentionally supported at key student moments of transition
  6. Enhance social-emotional resources for families
This Strategic Plan represents the diligent work of a dedicated team of educators, administrators, Trustees, parents, alumni parents, and students. This team conducted interviews, led think tanks and workshops, and thoughtfully crafted the text within these pages. The plan was also made possible by the guidance of Greg Bamford of Leadership and Design.
